A friend recently sent me his Linkedin Profile…
It had some weird letters and alphabets at the end of it.
Here it is – https://www.linkedin.com/in/sung-hoon-c-ab934464/
I asked him – why don’t you shorten it?
He said, it’s not possible, all the short ones relevant to my name are taken.
I have seen this before.
When I would meet people at meetups and ask for their Linkedin…
They would give me their name, a search would not really find them as they were not in my network at all.
Then we would try typing the URL and it would be a terrible experience.
Linkedin already owns Linked.in and it can provide that domain to help its users shorten their profile links.
But they don’t. Not sure why.
This seemed like a small problem worth solving.
So with a cup of coffee on a Sunday morning, I dived into it.
A couple hours later – it was DONE 🙂
Introducing…
MyLinkd.in – a simple no nonsense way to create a short link for your terribly long Linkedin Profile URL.

Using this, my friend’s Linkedin Profile URL went from…
